Walk description
Setting off on field paths we soon meet and cross over the Monsal Trail then continue on field paths until we enter Ashford in the Water. We leave the village via the old disused road, crossing the river Wye via two old stone bridges, we follow the river until reaching the busy A6. There is a short road walk (pavement) which takes us into the centre of Bakewell, where we’ll stop for our lunchbreak. We leave Bakewell and take a steady climb by track until reaching fields and Cracknowl Wood. There are more field paths to take us back to the Monsal Trail for the return to the start.
