Distance: Approximately 4.0 miles
Walk description

This walk will start from the main entrance of Meadowhall. We walk straight through the centre and exit near Debenhams, walk through a closed car park and cross over the tram tracks and a bridge onto the canal. We will walk on mainly recently maintained towpaths and see various fauna and flora. Hopefully we’ll see the locks working, conveying the barges on the different levels of their journey and fishermen hoping for a catch. Some parts of the towpath can be muddy so if wearing sandals you may have to wash your feet. When we reach the Victoria Quays canal basin we will continue on a pathway over the tram bridge to the Fitzallen Square tram stop for our journey back. We alight at Tinsley South stop which drops us near the entrance we came out of at the start the walk. We will then finish by walking through Meadowhall as before but taking a detour to Wetherspoons for the debrief.
