From Upper Burbage car park, we head up a gentle slope to join the Roman road of Stanage Edge, the internationally famous site for rock climbing. In clear weather, there are spectacular views over the Great Ridge of Mam Tor, Ladybower Reservoir and down the Hope Valley. Veering south west, we cross country over Moscar moor then return up past Cowper Stone and back to the start.

This walk is classed as ‘strenuous’ but the terrain isn’t too challenging and has just a few stiles.
