Walk description

A pleasant mix of riverside paths, woodlands, open countryside and country lanes with a little bit of a challenge thrown in and should take 2.5 hours with lunch stop.
The walk takes off in a westerly direction from the car park to the TPT/Upper Don Valley trail through Hughwaite Tunnel, turning at Black Moor crossing, then left again around the farm to descend down to the first crossing of the River Don on stepping stones.

We cross the River Don again by a footbridge before heading up to Green Moor then downhill through Trunce Farm (Spooky) woods.
This path is steep in places with roots and rocks and will be slippery when wet.

Crossing the second set of stepping stones takes us to Old Mill Lane. We then cross Forge Lane to follow the path alongside the river around Forge Mill Ponds finally returning across the fields to the car park.

De-brief after the walk at the Wortley Arms pub.
