Walk description
This is an undulating walk with a total ascent / descent of approximately 800ft. There are several stiles and squeeze gates on the walk. The route involves walking on good paths and tracks across grassy fields and woodland with some road walking just before Farnley Tyas. We start off along Station Road, Shepley after a short section of road walking we pick the path to Thurstonland and Farnley Tyas. From Farnley Tyas we descend to Highburton. There is a steep ascent out of Highburton via some steep steps. After leaving Highburton we are back on good field paths and tracks and our final descent back to Shepley.
Approximately 4.5 – 5 hours including lunch stop (starting at this time to fit in with anyone who is travelling by train).
