Date: Thursday, 7th July 2022
Start time: 10:00
Grade: Moderate
Distance: 6.5 miles
Walk description
After leaving the car park we climb onto Dobb Edge, enjoying the extensive views, before entering Chatsworth Park (please note there are several wobbly stiles and a high, but stable, one). We drop down the edge of the park to make our way into Baslow, where there are toilets. Then begins the steady climb up to Baslow Edge to pass Wellington’s Monument, and then down to a busy road junction crossing. Making our way across often boggy ground we enter the woods on Gardoms Edge, where we will stop for lunch and enjoy glorious views. From here it is approximately 1.5 miles back to the car park, all downhill.
