Walk description
We start from the Norfolk Arms, Ringinglow. Walking along Fulwood Lane for about 1/3 of a mile we then turn down Porter Clough, pass through Whiteley Woods before reaching Forge Dam. This section follows the course of Porter Brook which can be spectacular this time of year with the extra water gushing down it. We will pause for a few minutes at Forge Dam if anyone wants to buy a takeaway drink/food or use the public conveniences.
After Forge Dam we ascend to, and then cross Ringinglow Road. We continue on well defined paths passing Whirlow Hall Farm, then descend to Ecclesall Road at Whirlow. We then immediately pick up the Limb Valley and ascend to Whirlow Hall gardens where we will have lunch approximately 12:30. We continue up the Limb Valley after lunch which is a gradual ascent back to Ringinglow and the Norfolk Arms.
