Lodge Moor Circular

Leaving the car park there is a short distance of road walking along Crimicar Lane before we cross Spider Park and commence a series of paths which combined with short sections of road walking leads us to the highpoint of the walk. There are 2 relatively short but quite steep climbs during this section but it does provide extensive views of the Sheffield skyline. Lunch will be taken at this point.
From here we cross a section of open moorland (likely to be boggy) and follow overgrown paths down past the Redmires dams. Walking towards the top of Wyming Brook we then take the path along the top of The Craggs which in turn crosses Lodge Lane (there is a short steep descent and ascent during this section where care needs to be taken) before we turn to cross the Hallamshire Golf Course and return back to our cars.

There are a number of stiles during the walk, some of the moorland is likely to be boggy particularly if there has been any recent rain and at the time of the recce we did pass through some fields with cows although these kept their distance throughout.
