Walk description

Starting from Gynn Lane in Honley we start with a climb to reach the village of Farnley Tyas. From here it is a descent and followed by a climb to Castle Hill Tower where we will take a short break and if weather allows take in the 360 degree views. We then descend via Stirley Farm into Honley where we will take lunch. After lunch we continue through Honley and climb slightly to reach Oldfield. From here it is a descent back into Honley town and the cars.

This walk is a circular route starting from Honley and taking in Farnley Tyas,Castle Hill and Oldfield. The walk is a mixture of pavements, man made paths, grassy paths and fields. There are several squeeze gates and stiles on this walk. The route itself has muddy/wet sections where care will need to be taken, but at the time of the recee, the route was easily walkable, which given the conditions we have had is a bonus.
