Walk description
Starting from Concord Sports Centre car park, we cross into the Steel City sports ground, and then walk via roads to reach Wincobank Hill. We circumnavigate the hill before there is a short steep climb (about 100 yards) followed by a more gradual ascent to reach the top of Wincobank Hill. We will take our time on this section of the walk, the views over Sheffield from the top of the hill are worth the effort. From here it’s a descent onto Wincobank Common and into Wincobank itself. We walk via roads to enter Wooley Woods to reach Concord Golf Course, where there is a short gentle ascent into the park and back via tarmacked paths to our start point.
This walk is on good paths throughout. Some of the woodland paths are a little muddy but the mud is easily avoided.
