Walk description

The walk starts from the centre of Hathersage, and explores the hilly countryside, meadows and wooded valleys to the north of the River Derwent. We go through Hathersage churchyard where its famous resident is buried, before ascending gradually to North Lees and Outlane (984ft – highest point of walk). We then descend westward through fields towards Hurst Clough and lunch stop. We continue to descend, to follow paths in an eastward direction, through the golf course towards Thorpe Farm, before descending past The Tower and down The Hill back to Hathersage. There are good views throughout!

This is a 6.25 mile walk and will take 3.5 – 4 hours
