Rocher Flat from Kirk Edge, High Bradfield
Date: Sunday, 20th November 2022
Start time: 10:00
Grade: Moderate / Strenuous
Distance: 8.0 miles
Walk description

This walk starts by going uphill through Glen Howe Park, towards Onesacre to Coldwell and up through the wooded Coumes Vale Plantation. We cross Onesmoor for views of the Don Valley towards Sheffield. Going past the Convent we drop downhill towards Holdsworth, before following the familiar contour path above the Loxley Valley for great views towards Strines and Derwent Edge.
After going through High Bradfield there is a steep 200 yard climb as we go towards the Weather Centre. The good news is the final 2.5 miles are downhill through Foldrings and the lovely Glen Howe Park.

This is a walk of just under 8 miles. The route is undulating with gradual ascents with one steeper section and many stiles (most are low stone stiles but there are 3 ladder stiles to be aware of). It follows paths across fields, through woodland with short road sections. On a clear day the views are great!
