Date: Sunday, 22nd December 2019
Start time: 10:00
Grade: Moderate / Strenuous
Distance: 7.5 miles
Walk description

The walk starts by going through Glen Howe Park, continuing to ascend through Foldrings to the Bradfield weather station, from where there are extensive views towards Strines reservoir and Derwent Edge.

After descending to High Bradfield we continue along short undulations to find the contour path with views of the Loxley valley. At Holdworth, there is a short ascent towards the Convent and Onesmoor, before descending through woodland to Coldwell, where there is another short ascent on the road, to go across Onesacre and the descent back to Glen Howe.

The route is undulating with gradual ascents with one steeper section and a few stiles. It follows paths across fields, through woodland with short road sections. On a clear day the views are great!

This route has been shortened from last year, to take account of the time of year.
