Walk description
This walk starts from Dovestone Reservoir Car Park. We walk alongside the reservoir to reach Binn Green. We then begin the main ascent of our walk approximately 1.5 miles to reach Saddleworth War memorial where we will take a short rest to get our breath and admire the views. From here we continue across moorland paths (some parts may be muddy depending on weather conditions) to reach Diggle. Diggle is at one end of the longest canal tunnel in the UK and has been featured on TV. We take our lunch by the canal at Diggle. After lunch we continue by the canal for a short way before we turn off to the village of Pob Green. There are two pubs here, weather permitting we will stop for a drink at one of them. Suitably refreshed we continue on our way back to Greenfield and our cars.
Approx 5.5 hours including lunch and pub stop.
