Date: Thursday, 4th April 2019
Start time: 11:00
Grade: Easy
Distance: 6.5 miles
Walk description

The walk starts from Doncaster Railway Station / Bus Interchange, along the road to St. Mary’s Bridge where we join the banks of the River Don. We soon leave the urban area and are quickly in the countryside en-route to Newton. The path is flat and meandering on grassy and tarmac surfaces. Lunch stop will be at Sprotbrough, near the weir, canal and narrowboats.

We continue on towards Conisbrough, passing under the impressive viaduct, before ascending an incline for impressive views of Conisbrough Castle. There is also the ‘Earth Centre’ to look out for – remember that!

This is the only stage from last year’s Don Valley Way that will be repeated this year.

This is a linear walk of 6.5 miles and will take about 3.5 hours with a lunch stop.
