Walk description

A member of Sheffield Walkers is organising a charity walk and would like to invite any Sheffield Walker to join in helping to raise funds to help all the patients at St. Luke’s Hospice, Sheffield, with Cancer not as lucky as others in our group have been with this illness.

Sponsorship forms will be provided for anyone who would like to take part. We will be starting and finishing at The Travellers Inn, Oxspring near Penistone, and they will have Music and a BBQ on that afternoon to enjoy after the walk. You will be able to purchase food from the BBQ on the day. Prices from £3.50 for Hot Dogs to £ 5.00 for Cheese Burgers. Numbers requiring food to be put on the forum so I can send it to the pub by 27th July and payment made to the pub independently on the day.

The walk starts from The Travellers Inn at Oxspring, follows the Transpennine Trail up to Blackets Dam, on to High Field Plantation, on to the Penistone Boundary Walk Trail to High Royd Farm. We drop down to the River Don and a short stop by the bridge. We continue on to White Field Farm, up to High Oxspring and then down to Clay Green and then back to the pub.

This walk is 5.75 miles.
