Walk description

Starting at the Miners Arms we make our way to Tankersley Golf Club. After skirting around the golf course we make our way to the old ruins which featured in the film Kes. From there we follow Back Lane where we turn off and follow tracks through the woods and cross over the main road back into the woodland that was once Elsecar pit. We follow the tracks to Elescar Reservoir and will have lunch at Elsecar Park.

From Elsecar Park, there is a bit of road walking to get back to the woods and to Parkview Cottage. We will eventually come to the Old Lodge where we retrace our steps across the golf course to the Miners Arms.

This walk will be very muddy and is advisable to wear gaiters. There are 4 to 5 low stiles. It will take approx 3 hours with lunch.
