We start from Broadbottom train station, taking Moss Lane down to and across the bridge over the River Etherow. We then ascend through woods and over farmland paths to Rowarth. Following a short steep climb we take lunch, the location having excellent views of the surrounding landscape.
After lunch a gradual climb takes us to Coombes Edge with its panoramic views. We then descend towards Gamesley joining the River Etherow which takes us back to the start.

This walk has been shortened since we last used it. It features predominantly a range of well marked tracks and paths with extensive views throughout.
