Youlgreave and Stanton Moor

The walk starts from the Youlgreave church (opposite The George pub) in the centre of the village. We walk down the road and after crossing the river take a track directly south to pass Bleakley Dale, around Harthill Moor Farm and on to Robin Hood Strides. We then have a steady walk down the hill before taking a path up the hillside to Birchover (possible toilets, if open) after passing Round Barn Farm we cross the road onto Stanton Moor. A further steady stroll takes us up to Nine Ladies stone circle where we will stop for lunch.

After lunch we carry on to meet a back road and follow this, passing through Stanton and Stanton Hall eventually reaching the B5056 road. We cross over and follow a track across fields passing through a campsite and into Alton village where we pick up the path alongside the river for our return to Youlgeave.
