Walk description
We start by heading uphill to Wortley village. After crossing the A629, we continue into the Wharncliffe Estate, sweeping across tracks, wooded paths and fields to Hermit Hill. More field paths take us to Cliffe Common Lane. We then swing round over fields and farmland, with a steep ascent back towards the A629. Crossing this busy road, we drop diagonally downhill towards the Trans Pennine Trail which leads us back to the car park.
This route crosses several stiles.
