Walk description

From Cote Green car park, we have a steady ascent on a path to bring us to St. Leonard’s Church in Wortley village. Crossing the A629, we walk through the grounds of Wortley Hall (care is needed to cross a small cattle grid), over a stile (or perhaps an open gate) and across a field to reach and cross Hermit Hill Lane.
After going through open fields, we reach the hamlet of Crane Moor Nook and continue through fields under trees and bushes to reach Thurgoland.
Our lunch/snack spot will be at the side of Sunflower Animal Sanctuary.
Passing through Thurgoland, we then cross the A629 and descend across fields to reach Huthwaite Hall and turning left on to Huthwaite Lane.
After a short down hill stretch of road walking, we walk through the woodland adjacent to the mill ponds before reaching a further field which leads us back to the car park.

There are a total of 7 stiles, though some of them are at the side of gates which may be open
