Distance: 8.0 miles
Walk description
Walking due north from the car park at Winscar Reservoir, we turn left on to a clear track over Snailsden Moor, and walk along the edge of Ramsden Clough.
At grouse butt 8, we turn south and walk along the fence line at Withens Edge, then past Dead Edge End trig point until the fence changes direction. (Here, I will supply a map & compass to those wishing to have a very basic 5 min navigation session which will help you over undulating moorland towards a fixed target). After 200 metres of moorland we head towards the reservoir wall and back to the car park.
This is a moderate walk, mainly on well-trod paths and 1 kilometre of bracken and heather. 1 small stile and 2 rung fences en route.
