More Hall and Broomhead Reservoirs from Wharncliffe Crags

Walk description
We set off from Cote Green Car Park, initially following the Trans Pennine Trail and continuing onto woodland tracks. Reaching the crags via the local nature reserve we have a wide view of the Upper Don Valley. We descend through Wharncliffe Heath woodlands before passing the Tin Mill fishing lakes. We cross fields of sheep en route to Thurgoland, returning alongside the River Don, through woodland and along field edges to our starting point. The Wortley Arms is a short drive for anyone who wishes to enjoy a drink at the end of the walk.
This is a moderate walk of 6-6.5 miles. It will take approximately 3 hours plus lunch stop. There are a few ups and downs, several stiles and a little road walking.
