Walk description

We set off from Cote Green Car Park, initially following the Trans Pennine Trail and continuing onto woodland tracks. Reaching the crags through the local nature reserve we have a wide view of the Upper Don Valley. We pass the Tin Mill fishing lakes and cross fields of sheep en route to Thurgoland, returning alongside the River Don, through woodland and along field edges to our starting point.

The Wortley Arms is a short drive for anyone who wishes to enjoy a drink at the end of the walk.

There are a few ups and downs, several stiles and a little road walking.
It will take approx 3 hours plus lunch stop.
