This is generally an easy walk of 4 miles with two short steep ascents.
We take the path up to Stokes Barn then turn down and through the woodland and walk along Blakeway Hollow. Then a steep ascent up to the Jack Mytton Way and a further ascent up to Wenlock Edge. We take the easy walk along the edge, taking time to stop at the viewing points. Then across a field and along the track back to the car park.
Information: The afternoon start allows those travelling on Friday morning from Sheffield to join the walk. For those staying overnight on Thursday there will be time to look around Much Wenlock. It is a lovely little town and has a museum & visitors’ centre (open 10:30am), Wenlock Priory (English Heritage property open 10:00am), Much Wenlock Guildhall and shops. There are pubs and cafes and a number of reasonably priced car parks in Much Wenlock.
