Walk description
A short road walk takes us to National Trust Carding Mill Valley, a very attractive country park (toilet stop). Then comes the most strenuous part of the day, with a steady uphill through the valley, rewarded with increasingly beautiful views, to reach the plateau of Long Mynd. A nice gentle stroll now on good paths takes us to the highest point on Long Mynd – the trig point and toposcope at Pole Bank. From thereon views get increasingly more spectacular, until we start our descent to Little Stretton and a short road walk back to the start point.
This is a 8 mile walk. It is about 30 minutes from Ironbridge to the start point. Car sharing where possible is a good idea.
