Starting from Links Road car park opposite Bamburgh Castle, we follow the road a short way before turning inland across fields and farm tracks to reach Seahouses. Seahouses is a bustling little village with many cafes and food retailers. We will take an extended lunch break here.
After lunch we begin our return to Bamburgh Castle via the coastal dunes and beach. Our route will be dependant on tide times and weather conditions on the day.
The route takes us inland initially before turning on to the coast at Seahouses. There are 4 stiles on the first section, one of which is awkward but passable with care. From here we follow the coast back to Bamburgh Castle via the coastal dunes and beach.
Anyone wanting a shorter walk can join us at the Tourist Information Centre, Seafield Road, Seahouses. This section is 3.5 miles with no stiles, but there’s a slight pull up over the dunes at the end.
This walk is predominantly flat, and you have an option of completing the full 7.5 miles, or catching a bus from Banburgh to Seahouses before walking back.
