Wadsley Common to Holdworth, return via Myers Lane
The route starts from the car park on Stour Lane at the bottom of Wadsley Common. We make a steady descent on the main path with Hillsborough golf course on the right hand side. At the top of the common we reach Long Lane. We take care while crossing here and proceed on a path next to the 4th hole of Hillsborough golf course on our right. Once past the 4th hole we turn slightly right and climb an incline towards Stubbing Lane through some woodlands. To your left views of the Loxley valley can be seen. On reaching Stubbing we take a path left this is the Sheffield country walk and follow this all the way towards Holdworth.
At Holdworth we cross a farmers field and turn left, walking on the road and turning left onto Myers lane in the direction of the golf driving range. We walk around 400 yards along the lane then take a left returning towards the golf course. At the top of a short path we turn right and eventually join a return path back past the golf course on our left hand side and reach Long Lane. After crossing the road again we return to the car park via the same route we came up.
This is an easy walk of about 4 miles with the main hill being a steady ascent as we start the walk. The paths are good throughout the walk, being a variety of grass and manmade paths.
