The route follows the River Don by way of the 5 Weirs Walk. This will take us through the industrial heartland of Sheffield. Eventually, having crossed Stevenson Road, we will turn off the 5 weirs Walk and progress through the old Attercliffe graveyard. This leads us onto Attercliffe Common. Once across the Common, we walk on Worksop Road to the Aqueduct, then up by the side of it to get onto the canal side.
We then proceed on the canal path back towards Tinsley. Once at the Tinsley Lochs, we leave the path and drop down by the side of “IKEA” then back on to Weedon Street and on to “Rag n Bone”. Here we can get tea and coffee, also toilets.
The “Rag n Bone” is a little oasis on the 5 Weirs Walk. As well as tea and coffee, there is a wonderful array of bric-a-brac on sale. Also on site, you can see plenty of chickens and bees. All doing what they do.
From here, it is just over 5 minutes walk into Meadowhall for those wishing to visit.
This walk will start at the “Rag n Bone” cafe on Weedon Street, Carbrook, Sheffield, S9 2FT.
