Walk description

Leaving the Masons Arms we walk down to the church and then follow footpaths through fields to Keppels Field where we have a fantastic view of Keppels Column. We then walk on to Scholes village and walk through the woods to Morton and Dog Kennel Dams. We continue on to Wentworth Woodhouse stately home. We have a lunch stop in the grounds that overlooks the house and the Mausoleum.

From here we continue into the village of Wentworth and proceed to the church. We walk through the Arboretum and onto the Coach Road and then into Thornhill Lane to return to our starting point via the old pit.

This is walk through woodlands and over open farmland. There are a two or three stiles and it can be muddy in places. It will take around 3.5 hours plus lunch stop.
