Walk description

The Six Churches Walk is a fascinating 10 mile circular route. Most of the route is along ancient footpaths and bridleways, which have been used for hundreds of years by local people and visitors alike. But some of the footpaths are alongside busy roads so please take extra care when walking near traffic, keeping to pavements where they are available and walking in single file where they are not.
There are lots of points of interest along the route including the follies i.e. The Needles Eye, Keppels Column, Hoober Stand and the Mausoleum around Wentworth and the Parish Lock – up at Wath.

The walk is of a moderate level and will take about 5.5 hours including lunch. There are a couple of hills and valleys and a few stiles.
