Walk description
Leaving the car park we head towards Brough before turning right, then over the site of the Navio Roman Fort and follow paths and fields to Castleton, which is just under half way.
In Castleton, we’ll take a short break at the Visitors Centre to use facilities and have a drink. (Advisable to take own, as service at café can’t cater for lots of people with a time limit).
Leaving Castleton, we follow Hollowfield Lane, pass Losehill Hall Youth Hostel and cross Edale Road. After a group photo near Kilhill Bridge, it’s a steady walk to Parsons Lane then a short walk back to the Travellers Rest.
Please note: several stiles en route and fields can be a bit muddy.
Following the walk, Sheffield Walkers Christmas Lunch at the Travellers Inn, Brough, will take place from 3:00pm onwards.

If you wish to attend your first walk with Sheffield Walkers walking group please contact us a minimum 48 hours before the start of your chosen walk and we will add you to our list of walkers, notify the Walk Leader to expect you, and provide you with details of the meeting point and start time.
