Rocher Flat from Kirk Edge, High Bradfield
Date: Sunday, 17th November 2024
Start time: 10:00
Grade: Moderate
Distance: 8.0 miles
Walk description

The walk starts by gradually walking uphill through Glen Howe Park, towards Onesacre to Coldwell and up through the wooded Coumes Vale Plantation, to the highest point on the walk (1297ft) near the weather station above High Bradfield. We then descend through fields to the village, before following the road past the brewery, to follow tracks along to Holdworth and up to the Convent.
As we cross Onesmoor, there are extensive views towards Sheffield. The last 2 miles are mainly downhill through the hamlet of Foldrings and finally through the pretty Glen Howe Park.

This is a walk of 8 miles that we will follow in a figure of 8ish route. The terrain is undulating with gradual ascents with one steeper section and many stiles, (most are low stone stiles but there are 3 ladder stiles to be aware of). It follows paths across fields, through woodland with short road sections. On a clear day the views are great!
