Walk description

After enjoying the extensive views from the Monsal Head viewpoint at the start of this lovely walk we make our way down to the Monsal Trail which leads us to the delightful Water cum Jolly and the start of Cressbrook Dale. Following woodland paths we enter the dale eventually arriving at the busy A623. After crossing over the main road the route takes us across fields to the pretty village of Foolow.

Passing through the village we follow a quiet country lane, re-cross the A623 and make our way across fields and then on to Longstone Moor. We leave the moorland behind us via a fairly steep woodland path which takes us to another quiet country lane and on to Little Longstone and then back to the start of our walk.

This walk is mainly on good tracks and paths but please be aware that with this being limestone country there are several wall stiles along the way.
