Walk description
One of the best views in the Peak District to start our walk, and then immediately the steep path down to access Monsal Dale and the River Wye. Passing through White Lodge Car Park we use a rocky (slippery in wet conditions) path to reach the quiet valley that is Deep Dale. Across fields and farmland we make our way to Magpie Mine, where we’ll stop for a photo opportunity, and probably our lunch break (depending on time). Via paths with fantastic views ahead we take a steep, grassy path down to Ashford, finally heading back to the start along a short stretch of the Monsal Trail.
