The route takes us initially through Anston Stones Wood, we then turn towards Lindrick Golf Course with extensive views across open fields. Whilst walking adjacent to the golf course we pass “Millionaire Row”. These are large properties one of which was on the market recently for £2.8M. Another of the houses has a military missile and planes in the garden.
We cross the golf course to the A57 road which we cross and walk across fields to the village of Shireoaks. We then pick up the Chesterfield Canal which has abundant wildlife and fish in the canal. We will stop for lunch on the canal itself before we turn off for Lindrick Dale itself which again comprises of stunningly large properties. At the end of Lindrick Dale we get back to the cars and the end of the walk.
This is an easy / moderate walk of 6 miles with good paths throughout. There is 1 very short climb of approximately 50 steps. Other than that the route is predominately flat. We do have to cross the A57 Sheffield / Worksop road twice during the walk where care will be needed. There are only 2 stiles (none are difficult).
