Walk description
This is an ideal walk for members who want to taste the beauty of Kinder without needing to bog-hop. On a gradual climb to the trig point of Harry Hut and Mill Hill, we will take a brief look at a plane wreckage before joining the (Edale to Crowden) section of the Pennine Way. The mainly flat ridge walk around the south western edge of Kinder Scout gives a spectacular view towards the outer fringes of Manchester, Glossop and Hayfield. On a windy day you may feel the spray of Kinder Downfall as it’s blown back uphill. We leave the edge and walk down to skirt Kinder Reservoir and traverse Leygatehead Moor before heading gradually back up to the lay-by at the start of the walk.
