Please note: This is an evening walk.
Starting from the car park on Baring Road in Rotherham, we first enter Barber Woods and climb gradually to the first of the Kimberworth Statues. There are 10 statues to see in total. Descending out of the woods, there is then a moderate climb of about ¾ of a mile to see more of the statues. We will take our time up this ascent before the path levels out and we enter Winterhill Field in Kimberworth to see our final statues. Picking up Droppingwell Road there is a gradual ascent to reach Wortley Road. Crossing the road here we have a short distance on pavements to reach a path that takes us into Barkers Park. This is the highest point of our walk. Walking through the park, we cross Oaks Lane to enter a small woodland before crossing Wortley Road for the final time to enter Grange Park Golf Course. From here we pick up grass paths to reach the clubhouse. There is then a manmade path along the back of the clubhouse and down adjacent to the 18th fairway. Continuing our descent until we reach Thundercliffe Grange, there is then a section along the bottom of Barber Wood to get back to the car park.
This is a walk of about 4 miles along well defined paths. There is a little walking along pavements and we have to cross Wortley Road a couple of times.
