Walk description

Starting from our roadside parking on Gynn Lane, we enter Cliff Wood, emerging on a residential street in Brockholes and continue on past Brockholes railway station. The route follows the railway line for a short time before ascending across country to Farnley Tyas; joining the Holme Valley circular walk. Farnley Tyas has a nice church and if time allows we can have a short stop.

We continue across country from Farnley Tyas through Royd House Wood to pick up a path that takes us to our lunch stop at Victoria Tower, Castle Hill.

After lunch we descend to Shirley Farm, an area of interest to Yorkshire Wildlife Trust for its flora and fauna. We continue on woodland tracks, emerging above Honley railway station, where the final part of our route takes us via a residential road back to our start point.
