Walk description

The walk will take us from ‘Robin Hood’ along a footpath to Gibbet Moor and ‘Hob Hurst’s House’ – a square prehistoric burial mound with an earthwork ditch and outer bank. It was supposedly named after a local hobgoblin.

From here we follow footpaths towards Hell Bank Plantation but then double back across an area called ‘Rabbit Warren’. We reach Chatsworth’s Stand Wood and follow the high footpath towards the Hunting Tower looking down onto Chatsworth House and the Cascade. We then continue on footpaths over Dobb Edge and eventually back to our starting point.

This is an 8 miles walk and is moderate. There are a number of styles on this walk.
