Distance: 9.5 miles
Walk description
Both villages are situated 4 miles south-east of Chesterfield and revolve mainly around the farming industry. The walk takes us at the side of and across agricultural land and the surrounding area, using public footpaths, bridleways and tracks. Crossing the M1 we walk across open fields towards Carr Vale Flash Nature Reserve then pick up the Stockley Brook Trail (part of an old disused railway line). Cutting back across through fields of crops, we pass back under the motorway and through open fields for our return to the start.
