Walk description
From the centre of the village, we pass the cheese shop and walk down Stonewell Lane. Taking the path before the new housing estate, we walk over open fields before crossing the River Dove. We then ascend and walk past Harris Close Farm. From here there is a short section of walking on a quiet road, before we pick up a footpath at the back of the farm and then descend back to the River Dove. Crossing the Dove we pick up the track to Pilsbury Castle where we will have our lunch stop. After lunch we take the path above Pilsbury Farm and continue in a Southerly direction over open fields towards Carder Low. Picking up a bridle path towards Moat Hall, it is then only a short walk back into Hartington and the end of the walk.
This walk has some stiles to negotiate and one short steep uphill section.
