Higger Tor from Burbage Rocks

Walk description
Leaving Fox House we take the path onto Burbage Edge which is a long and fairly gentle incline leading to Burbage Bridge. Here we cross the river and walk back over Higger Tor and down to the Surprise View Car Park, depending on timings we will take lunch somewhere along this path. Crossing the A6187 we take the path down to Padley Gorge where anyone wishing to revisit their childhood can take a short break to paddle in the river! The path now takes us down Padley Gorge almost to Grindleford Station where we cross the bridge and take the return path up the other side. At the top we turn right, pass the ice cream van before crossing the B6521 and entering the Longshaw Estate for our path back to Fox House and our cars.
There are only 2 stiles at the beginning of the walk. At the time of the recce the paths were boggy in places.
Meeting point and parking
Meeting point: Bus stop outside the Fox House, Hathersage Road, Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
Parking: Road-side parking just above the Fox House or at the National Trust Longshaw Car Park. Free to NT members otherwise P&D.
