Edale, Golden Clough, Kinder South Edge and Jacob’s Ladder

Walk description
Leaving Edale car park, we turn east towards Ollerbrook Farm, climb north then traverse Ringing Rodger to the top of Golden Clough Grid Ref: SK 095873. From this vantage point, fine views can be had over the Vale of Edale. Walking west, we pass Nether Tor, Upper Tor and stop for lunch at the half way point at the top of Crowden Brook.
The SW track leads to the side of Crowden Tower then we pick our way through the vast array of interestingly-shaped rock cluster of Wool Packs. Continuing along the path, look out for Pym Chair and Noe Stool.
A steady descent along the Pennine Way leads to Jacob’s Ladder, then to Upper Booth where we walk through the farmyard, traversing the lower slopes of Grindsbrook Knoll back to Edale.
This walk is 10 miles, taking approx. 6 hours.

If you wish to attend your first walk with Sheffield Walkers walking group please contact us a minimum 48 hours before the start of your chosen walk and we will add you to our list of walkers, notify the Walk Leader to expect you, and provide you with details of the meeting point and start time.
