Starting from Ecclesfield Park, we walk via Green Lane to get to the bottom of Hartley Brook Trail, which we ascend to reach the end of Tongue Gutter. After crossing Barnsley Road we walk the length of Tongue Gutter, before turning into Parson Cross Park. At the top end of Parson Cross Park we cross into Longley Park, taking the path across the top of this park we reach Stubbin Lane where there is a some road walking to reach Sicey Avenue. From here there is a short ascent to get us into the Steel City ground and across into Concord Park. Descending out of Concord Park and into Woolley Wood we take the path alongside Blackburn Brook to Green Lane to return to our start point via the Travellers pub for a de-brief if you so wish.
This walk is 7 miles in total and will take 3.5 hours including lunch. The walks takes us through some of the green areas of north-east Sheffield and is all on good paths. There is some pavement walking to get us between the greener tracks and parks.
