Walk description
Leaving the Cherry Tree car park we pass through woodland and fields before heading along past Hollin House Farm to Deffer Wood. Emerging from the woods we enter rolling countryside to reach the midway point at Cannon Hall Country Park for our lunch stop.
After lunch we leave the parkland, continue past Cawthorne Cricket Club, walking beside the stream and ascending along the Barnsley boundary to pass through Hood Wood and Margery Wood on our return to the village of High Hoyland.
It will take approx 3 – 3.5 hours plus lunch stop.
