Walk description

From our assembly point outside the Derwentwater Arms, we ascend through the village of Calver until we reach the Hassop Road (B6001). Taking care crossing the road at this point, and after negotiating a stile, we continue to ascend on a track before veering off to follow paths through fields and woodlands along the lower reaches of Longstone Edge giving great views of the countryside below the Edge. At about the halfway point we ascend to Longstone Moor where we are treated to a near 360 degree panoramic view of the surrounding countryside and moor. After crossing Longstone Moor, we’ll take lunch in a place with great views. From there we’ll return first via quarry tracks and then following paths passing around Calver Peak before descend back to our starting point in the village.
