Distance: 9.0 miles
Walk description
From Fox House our route takes the top path along the Burbage Edge ridgeline up to the bridge. From here we ascend to the trig point at Stanage and hopefully enjoy the views this commanding position allows. We walk along Stanage Edge for approximately 1 mile before starting our gradual descent down to the woods. Depending on timings lunch may be taken at this point. Our paths now take us along sheep tracks through an expanse of dead bracken, gaiters or waterproof trousers may be useful for this section as the bracken encroaches onto the narrow paths. We now make our way over Higger Tor before descending down past Carl Wark and down to the Longshaw Estate for the short walk back to our start point.
