Walk description

Starting from The Sands car park in Low Bradfield, we take the path on the south side of Dam Flask. Climbing away from the dam we pick up a minor road before making our descent towards Stopes then carrying on down to reach Rivelin Dams. Following the dam path, we pick up a wide track called Wyming Brook Drive. After about 1.5 miles we leave this track and ascend onto Head Stone Moor. Picking up a track that descends and crosses the A57 road, we ascend past Surrey Farm to reach Crawshaw Lodge. From here its a clearly defined moorland path to reach the village of Ughill. From Ughill there is a section of road walking before we descend into Bradfield Dale by a minor road. The last section is a grassy path which brings us out opposite “The Plough” pub for a well earned drink.

This walk is a strenuous walk and consists of manmade, field and moorland paths with sections of road walking. There are several stiles on this walk and with recent weather conditions it is likely to be muddy in places.
