Date: Sunday, 2nd July 2023
Start time: 09:30
Grade: Strenuous
Distance: 6.0 miles
Walk description
Starting from Barber Booth we climb to the trig point on Brown Knoll before turning towards South Head and Mount Famine, where ironically we will take lunch. After descending Mount Famine, we cross Kinder Moor to the Edale Cross, down Jacob’s Ladder and a heavenly flat path back to the car park.
This is a strenuous walk due to the terrain. It includes two long steady climbs and two short steep climbs (weather dependent). The paths are managed but include sections with uneven stones. The constant glorious views make it all worthwhile.
